Immersive Sound Experience in an Urban Environment
This experimental soundscape reimagines the city as a dynamic auditory playground where architecture and ambient noise become intentional compositions. Using a network of hidden speakers and vibration-sensitive transducers, the work activates overlooked urban spaces with responsive sonic textures. Footsteps on a fire escape generate rhythmic pulses, while echoes from a parking garage bloom into cascading reverbs. Participants wearing bone-conduction headphones experience these transformed environments where the boundary between found sound and composed music dissolves. The piece reveals how even the most mundane urban interactions contain latent musicality, inviting listeners to experience their daily surroundings as a collaborative performance between humans and the acoustic architecture of the city.
